We are family. The seven Talents International initiatives have a similar structure to their Berlin counterpart while retaining their own distinct regional perspectives and benefiting from the networks of locally based film festivals.

Talents Buenos Aires

Talents Buenos Aires

Taking place during the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Film (BAFICI), Talents Buenos Aires offers around 35/40 participants from 10 South American countries an extensive programme of workshops and master classes.

2024 Edition

The 19th edition of Talents Buenos Aires will take place in April 2024, inviting professionals from the film and audiovisual industry across South America to take part in the premier forum for networking and discussion and reflection on film in the region, which proposes to discover deepen the new trends in contemporary cinema from an integral perspective.

The 2024 edition will retain the tradition of using the title of a film as a basis for edition's thematic axes and debates. This time it will run under the theme of "The Undefined Things", taken from the third feature film by Maria Aparicio, "Las cosas indefinidas".

Who can apply

Screenwriters, directors, producers, actors, cinematographers, art directors, editors, sound designers, programmers/curators and film critics from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Talents Durban

Talents Durban

Run alongside the Durban FilmMart, Talents Durban brings together 20 emerging African filmmakers and critics and provides them with a unique opportunity to meet with international industry mentors. Through intensive workshops and hands-on project development, up-and-coming filmmaking talents are encouraged to advance their careers and connect with the continent's top producers.

2024 Edition

 The 17th edition of Talents Durban will take place during Durban FilmMart in July 2024. Talents Durban is open to African screenwriters and directors with fiction, documentary, animation, and hybrid projects in development – this includes all media formats such as film, television series, web series, and content for mobile platforms. Selected participants chosen by a panel of industry experts participated in mentorship labs, workshops, discussions, and specialised programmes for specific disciplines including directing and scriptwriting. The Talents Press component invites emerging film critics and journalists from digital and traditional media to apply for mentorship and hands-on training. Learn more

Who can apply?

Talents Beirut

Talents Beirut invites 20 emerging cinematographers, editors, sound designers and score composers from the Arab world to take part in a four-day programme of workshops and talks in order to reflect on their own work, connect with other emerging creative talents, and benefit from the knowledge and expertise of film professionals from across the region.

2024 Edition

Each year, about twenty emerging cinematographers, editors, sound designers and score composers from the Arab world are invited to Beirut to participate in Talents Beirut and meet established and acclaimed film experts who share with them their knowledge and expertise in a series of workshops, trainings and talks. Who can apply?

Applications are open to emerging cinematographers, editors, sound designers and score composers from the Arab world who have directly contributed to at least one short film with a credit as cinematographer, editor or sound designer/score composer.

Talents Guadalajara

Talents Guadalajara

Taking place during the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), the initiative welcomes 50 emerging filmmakers from Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean to an extensive programme of master classes, studios for various disciplines, and specialised labs for film critics (Talent Press) and producers (Talents Co-Production Meeting).

2024 Edition

The 39th edition of Talents Guadalajara will take place during Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), from 7 to 15 June 2024, bringing together young filmmakers who stand out for their originality, talent and vision towards the future, always reflecting their reality. Learn more.

Who can apply?

Talents Guadalajara is open to screenwriters, directors (including animation directors), producers, cinematographers, editors, sound designers, composers, actors and film critics from Mexico, Central America (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama) and the Caribbean (Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Granada, Haiti, Jaimaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vinces and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago). Participants should be fluent in Spanish and English.

Talents Sarajevo

Talents Sarajevo

As an integral part of the Sarajevo Film Festival, Talents Sarajevo aims to connect some 65 emerging film professionals from Southeastern Europe and the Southern Caucasus with their peers from across the region and with acclaimed international industry experts. The six-day event consists of master classes, talks, screenings and specialised workshops focusing on screenwriting, directing, producing, acting, cinematography, editing and film criticism.

2024 Edition

The 18th edition of Talents Sarajevo will take place during the Sarajevo Film Festival in August 2024.

Talents Tokyo

Taking place every year during the TOKYO FILMeX Festival, Talents Tokyo offers a select group of 15 directors and producers from East and Southeast Asia a unique opportunity to present their own projects to experts and local industry professionals. In addition, the six-day programme includes a number of training sessions as well as lectures by distinguished international film professionals who share their expertise with the participants.

Directors and producers from Brunei, Cambodia, China, China Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China Macao Special Administrative Region, East-Timor, Indonesia, Japan, Laos People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Talent Press Rio

Talent Press Rio

The most recent addition to the Talents International family, Talent Press Rio seeks to support Portuguese-speaking film critics, create stronger ties between Lusophone countries, and foster broader cross-cultural exchange through editorial meetings, talks with filmmakers, screenings and panels. Last year, six writers from Brazil, Angola and Portugal were selected to participate.

Talent Press Rio takes place within the scope of the Festival do Rio – Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival, with six participants selected by a committee of professionals in the field and had the opportunity to cover the festival.

Who can apply?

Film critics and journalists born or residents in Portuguese-speaking countries (Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Macau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe or East Timor).
